The Bridge Staff Bios
Melissa Stinson, Administrator
Melissa Stinson joined the family here at The Bridge in 2020. In addition to being our Administrator, Melissa has dual nursing licensure in Oregon and California and was a nurse for 14 years. Melissa lives in Grants Pass with her husband of 21 years and their 4 boys. Melissa’s two eldest children are in the Military and her third eldest son is joining the ranks shortly. Melissa’s youngest son attends elementary school here in Grants Pass. In Melissa’s spare time, she enjoys coaching Little League baseball, Arts and Craft cards, and spending time with her family outdoors.
Chantel Ellis BSN, RN
Chantel Ellis graduated with her BSN from Angelo State University and has nine years of health care experience which has helped her grow into the nurse she is today. Chantel’s driving passion has always been to make a difference in people’s lives. Chantel finds it so rewarding to be able to serve her community by providing quality care, support, and education. Chantel says, “Joining this amazing team at The Bridge during the pandemic has me committed to finding new ways for our residents to see just how beautiful life still is, even under current circumstances”.
Outside of nursing, Chantel enjoys crafting, restoring furniture, and traveling with her husband and two sons.
Noel Veale, Activities Director & Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor
Originally born in Denver and raised in Southern California, Noel Veale moved to Grants Pass to retire. After spending 20+ years in law, doing special education advocacy on the side, Noel started her own Elder Care Advocacy business helping families get their aging parents better medical care and finding places for them to live. While in California, Noel received her RCFE license to be an Executive Director for Independent & Assisted Living as well as her Certified Senior Advisor license. Noel also took several certificate classes such as Gerontology, Brain Health, Infectious Disease, Pain Management, and Integrative Mental Health. As Noel did all this, her passion for the elderly grew.
Once Noel moved to Grants Pass, she came to The Bridge as an Activities Director in June 2019 and enjoys spending time with the residents. Noel and her husband adopted and raised a special needs child who is now 25-years-old and living in Eugene. Noel loves to work out in the yard, read, and quilt in her spare time.
Karen Nicholson, Dietary Manager
Karen Nicholson has been working at The Bridge since 2002. Karen says she can truly say she enjoys being at The Bridge every day! Karen and her sister moved to the Rogue Valley when she was 4-years-old and it was when her parents decided to go into the restaurant business, that Karen developed a passion for serving people.
Karen says, “Ever since I can remember, I have been involved in the food service industry. I have had the great pleasure in my time to meet a lot of good people and would not want to do anything else.”
In her free time, Karen enjoys being outside, gardening, and spending time with her husband and all the grandkids.
David Stinson, Maintenance Director
David Stinson originally hails from Porterville, California and move to Grants Pass approximately a year ago. David and his wife of 30 years decided to move to Grants Pass in order to be able to spend as much time as possible with their children and grandchild. David initially joined The Bridge as the maintenance assistant and quickly worked his way through the ranks to Director.
David grew up in the construction trades where he learned his skills thanks to the help of his father and his uncle. For the past 15 years, David enjoyed his life as a card dealer at the casino where both he and his wife had previously worked. David is fan of the Raiders and the Dodgers, and enjoys barbecuing with his family.
Michelle Norris Health Care Director
Michelle Norris has been at The Bridge since 2019. Michelle initially started as a Med Tech before moving into the HCC/SSD position in 2020. Michelle has been in health care since 2005 when she received her CNA license in California. While in California, Michelle worked in Assisted Living, Memory care, Long Term care/SNF/Rehab, In Home Care, and County Mental Health/Crisis Unit. Michelle met her husband in 2003 and they were married in 2011. Michelle has four children between her and her husband as well as three grandchildren.
Michelle and her family have several exotic animals including five sugar gliders, two bearded dragons, and a scorpion. Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Michelle has a passion for photography, painting, and arts and crafts of any kind.
Melissa Wanke Social Services
Melissa Wanke jumped into the health care field as CNA as soon as she finished high school. Since then, she has worked as an Administrator of a Memory Care building and worked as the RCC in an assisted living/memory care. Over the years, Mellissa has specialized in Memory care and Hospice care.
Melissa has a passion for helping seniors in the community and seeing them smile brings a smile to her face. Mellissa has two beautiful little girls and a Shiatsu dog that she adopted from one of her former Residents. In her free time, Melissa takes care of her mom and enjoys spending as much time as she can outdoors.
